MN Wing Encampment

Cadets have the opportunity to spend a week of their summer at Fort Ripley where they learn leadership, teamwork, self-discipline and experience a variety of tours.  These often include simulators, confidence course and helicopter flights.

The date for this program varies from year to year and is announced around November.  Staff applications are due in December and registration is in May.  This program is a prerequisite for other exciting Cadet programs!  Cadets under age 14 are required to attend Encampment Preparatory School (EPS) which takes place in May/June.

See the Minnesota Wing Encampment for more details.

2021 MN Wing Encampment Season

  • Cadre Selection Exercise (CSE): Mar 12-14

  • Cadre Training Weekend (CTW): April 29-May 2

  • Encampment Prep School (EPS): June 4-6 (required for cadets under age 14)

  • Encampment: Students June 26 - July 3, Staff June 25 - July4

We are planning all activities at Camp Ripley. Please note that CSE and CTW may be virtual or hybrid depending on the CAP COVID-19 Remobilization Phase that MN Wing is in.  Please note that EPS and Encampment are dependent on MN Wing being in Phase 3 or above for the activities to even take place.  This also could affect the number of students and cadre we are able to allow to attend. We are planning for a typical Encampment, but this could change, please keep an eye on the MN Encampment Website and MN Wing Announcements for any change to Encampment.

Required Medical Forms: Cadets that are attending Encampment for the 1st time and all seniors to submit a CAPF 162 CAP Member Physical Exam form to be filled out and signed by your doctor.  The medical forms are due when you apply for Encampment so we recommend having them signed by your doctor by the end of May.
